In the last hours we have reported more layoffs in WWE. As reported by Mike Johnson and Sean Ross Sapp of PW Insider and Fightful, yesterday there was a new day of departures. This time, most of those affected were working behind the scenes. The executive vice president of the advanced media group, Jaylan Donlan, and the executive vice president of production, Brian Pellegatto, would be among the names released from their contracts.
The reactions of some people related to WWE have not been long in coming. The former WWE host, Cathy kelley, showed his frustration on social networks for the departure of those who, at the time, were co-workers. Kelley noted that many of the people who were fired have worked very hard to build WWE’s digital brand and don’t get the credit they deserve.
“My brain can’t understand and my heart is fucking broken by all my friends. Besides being great humans, everyone behind the scenes at WWE digital worked like crazy to build a great money-making brand and they haven’t gotten the credit they deserve“Kelly wrote on Twitter.
PWInsider reported that some departments and lines of work will be closed, and that the current executive vice president of television production, Kevin Dunn, will be in charge of supervising all the tasks carried out by these divisions. The advanced media group led by Jaylan Donlan has been one of the divisions that has been disbanded.
Cathy Kelley became one of WWE’s most beloved personalities for her role as an interviewer. Despite leaving the company at the beginning of 2020, Kelley has remained linked to the world of professional wrestling and it is not strange to see her interact on social networks with her former WWE or NXT colleagues. His last sporadic appearance in WWE took place in April, being part of the cast of the special Watch Along program on NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.
