The Play something button is being tested on numerous Android phones and we await its great landing.
After a few months of testing, last April we could see how it was added the option Play something when launching the Netflix app on TVs. It seems that this has worked, since it has begun to be tested on some Android phones all over the planet and it is expected that it will soon reach all users of the mobile application.
This new function is found when you start the Netflix application and was born with the idea of avoid wasted time deciding what to watch on the platform. When you don’t know what content to watch, clicking on the option plays any movie or series chosen in a supposedly random way, as if you were watching television all your life without knowing what exactly they give.
As with other Netflix features, it’s hard to know how many subscribers are actually using it, but it does not seem few seen that it will be extended to other devices.
As reported in Engadget, the button is only tested on Android mobiles, but all over the planet and not only in specific countries, as is the case with some functions that are in a first stage of evaluation. This suggests that it may not take long to unfold massively
It should be taken into account that the movement is part of Netflix’s strategy to conquer mobile phones too and that there are many who see content in them when they travel by subway or during the day at any time. Just as they cataloged the Fortnite game as direct competition, they do not want to associate their content solely with televisions.
As we have reported, it is very likely that this novelty will not be long in coming, with which Netflix wants to change the perspective of subscribers upon entering the platform. That whenever you go in you see something, even if you don’t know what exactly, that seems like the intention.
