Coach Adenor Leonardo Bachi ‘Tite‘He denied this Tuesday that he intends to leave the Brazilian team due to differences with the authorities who have agreed to celebrate the Cup
America, a tournament that its players reject but that they will play despite the criticism they launched against Conmebol.
The players of the squad, who in the days prior to today’s game in Asunción had refused to make public statements, today published a manifesto on their social networks in which they clarified that they did not intend to turn their disagreement into a political matter. At the same time, they underlined their dissatisfaction with the celebration in the territory of the tournament that Argentina and Colombia were supposed to organize.
Despite the rejection of the decisions of the government of President Jair Bolsonaro, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and Conmebol, they expressed that they will play the 47th edition of the Copa América, which will begin this Sunday and will run until 10 July.
“We are a cohesive group but with different ideas. For various reasons, be they humanitarian or professional, we are dissatisfied with Conmebol’s conduction of the America’s Cup,” the statement said.
After the match won by Canarinha against Paraguay in Asunción by 0-2, Tite showed his disagreement with sectors of the press that gave his departure from office as imminent.
“My limit is serenity, peace and solidarity,” said the coach after stressing that he respected the work of the sports press.
However, he warned that some media “put words in their mouths” that no one said, and did not give the “true information.”
After the match corresponding to the eighth day of the World Cup qualifiers, the coaching staff led by Tite and the players issued the statement in which they also criticized that the CBF did not communicate the decision to host the tournament first hand.
