King William decorated his wife, Maxima of the Netherlands, with the Grand Cross of the Order of Orange-Nassau for her 50 years and ‘great services to the Crown’.
50 years of life are no small thing, and someone who had him in his sights for his life partner, was the King William of Holland. The current monarch of the Netherlands decorated his wife, Maxima Zorroguieta, with Grand Cross of the Order of Orange-Nassau — the highest rank of the Grand Cross.

King William celebrates the 50th birthday of Máxima of the Netherlands
Since 1969, the Order of the House consists of three degrees: the Grand Cross, the Grand Honorary and the Honorary Cross. This most recognizable gift for Máxima was chosen by the king himself, who considered that the Queen has ‘rendered multiple services to the house’. In fact, he is the only one who can bestow this symbolism and decoration, without receiving government intervention.
Before the Grand Cross, Máxima received the Order of the Golden Lion from the House of Nassau on her wedding day. It is unlikely that we will see her wearing the new decoration, since this first one has more weight.
The new photographs of Máxima de Holland for her 50th birthday
A day before his birthday, the royal house shared new photos of Máxima taken by the king in the garden of the Huis ten Bosch Palace.
In these portraits, he fell in love with the naturalness with which he posed, letting that characteristic smile be the best complement to the beautiful white knitted sweater with a high neck and wide neckline. Massimo Dutti and flower earrings Zara.
The simple and homely images go beyond the graceful margin with which they (almost) always photograph the royals. Mainly because days before we contemplated the whole family at a gala event, where Máxima and her daughters — Amalia, Alexia and Arianee — wore long with a lot of sparkles and heels.
